HISTORIANS, students, artists, patrons and youngsters gathered to celebrate the Gladstone 200 Festival at St Deiniol’s Library.

The library, which uses ICG for PR, marked the bicentenary of its founder, William Ewart Gladstone, with a series of special events which included the unveiling of two new art works - a chapel altar piece and four stone carved outdoor benches.

Other events over the four days included a prize-giving ceremony for local children and students, a concert with world renowned harpist Catrin Finch, and an evensong service with the Archbishop of Wales, The Most Reverend Dr Barry Morgan.

The library was also open for guided tours as part of the Civic Trust for Wales Open Doors initiative.

The festival was featured on BBC Radio Wales' drive time programme, ITV Wales, Radio Cymru and local newspapers.
