New website is top of the class

A focal point for its online community and a platform to showcase its inspirational surroundings was at the top of the brief sheet when St Mary’s College wanted a new website.


With more of an emphasis needed on capturing initial interest via their digital platforms and offering a place to communicate school news and events, St Mary’s invested in a redesign and rebuild of their website. 


The independent school based in Crosby, Merseyside, offers a co-educational setting for boys and girls aged 0-18. As part of the scoping of the new site ICG considered how to give equal share of voice to their three schools; Bright Sparks & Early Years, St Mary’s Prep and St Mary’s College.


As well as updating the look of the website, we had to consider each school’s identity and how that would work within the overall site – clear navigation is referenced on the homepage, with colour coded elements on each school’s page sitting alongside tailored content.


As with many sites ICG creates, St Mary’s was no different in needing a mobile-first approach. Early discussions resulted in ensuring the new site would include a suite of rich media content comprising video and photography, to promote the school’s attributes and provide points of interaction with prospective students and parents.


In addition to the schools’ content, we also developed an alumni site, Friends of St Mary’s. This platform offers a digital space where former pupils, staff and governors can connect with the school and with each other, for social, career and business purposes.
